can’t control midnight militiamen.
Grenade-littered slums fight for bellies, not TVs.

But Mr. All-Out Dollars and Carts smells
wholesale mortars and Wal-Mart lunch,
revenge for poisoned health and neighborhoods.

Shoppers should surge outside the malls,
but Baghdad’s battering Black Friday’s
flat-screen flames, killing the holiday spread.
