Behind Obscure Witness

Predawn hostage checks his tower,
and dismissed the gunshot sky.
Exiled gazer, downtown hammer.

Unable to make it to the spy house,
he turned east and yelled it won’t be him.
Defected witness, chained director.

Viewing in the very skies he dismissed,
hundreds of planets twinkle in snarled orbit.
Obscure commuter, armed critic.
