A television painted exile rallying backwards
into the carnival heartland. Past city cliffs
draped in reptile musicians, glacial acrobats

danced to the python coast, raved
a spontaneous dawn mirrored red
in the habitat of traffic. The self imposed

towner harmonized postcard symbolism,
his glittering joy barely evidenced,
lurking like a fossil technology.
